Measure share of mention and citation share

Brand mention rate tells you whether the answer system includes the brand. Citation share tells you whether your pages or third-party assets are used as sources. Both are needed.

Compare against competitors

A brand may have low absolute visibility but still be improving if competitors are also missing. Conversely, a brand may appear in answers but lose the best citation slots to stronger sources.

Connect monitoring to publishing

The outcome of monitoring should be a prioritized backlog: fix crawlability, rewrite answer pages, add FAQ, add evidence, create comparison pages, or build third-party citations.
